Frequently Asked Questions

Shipping

Do you ship internationally?

We currently offer international shipping on individual copies of the magazine, or on collections. However, we do not currently offer international subscriptions. Please make sure you select the international shipping option at checkout. If you accidentally purchase a UK subscription, when you live outside of the UK, we will refund you.

For orders going to Australia and New Zealand, please go to our dedicated stockist, Tanglewood Toys: https://tanglewoodtoys.co.nz/collections/a-year-and-a-day

We are working towards having more dedicated stockists outside of the UK to handle all international orders.

How long will it take for my magazine to arrive?

We send our magazines by second class post and aim to dispatch within three days of ordering. You should receive an email when your magazine has been dispatched. We send all of our magazines by Royal Mail, except for wholesale orders.

If your order is being sent to a UK address, we expect the magazine to arrive within a week of dispatch. If your order has not arrived within two weeks, we will send out a replacement copy/ copies free of charge.

If your order is being sent to an address in Europe, we expect the magazine to arrive within three weeks of dispatch. If your order has not arrived within 28 days from ordering, we will send out a replacement copy/ copies free of charge.

If your order is being sent to an address in outside of the UK and Europe (e.g. ‘rest of the world’), we expect the magazine to arrive within six weeks of dispatch. If your order has not arrived within 60 days from ordering, we will send out a replacement copy/ copies free of charge.

Pre-orders and back issues

Can I buy back issues of the magazine?

Yes. They are available on our website shop page to buy as individual copies or as an annual collection.

What if I pre-order a magazine – when will that arrive?

Magazines that are marked as ‘pre-order’ will be dispatched from the estimated release date. These are roughly:

Spring Issues: March

Summer Issues: June

Autumn Issues: September

Winter Issues: December

Please note, this does not apply to back issues of the magazine. Unless out of stock, these will be dispatched immediately.

If you add a pre-order item to a combined order (an order containing other magazines), then you will not receive your order until the release date of the pre-order item. It is best to order pre-order items separately in this instance.

Subscriptions

When will my subscription start?

An annual subscription is four copies of the magazine per year. The release dates are:

Spring Issues: March

Summer Issues: June

Autumn Issues: September

Winter Issues: December

You can usually order a subscription beginning with the forthcoming issue from about a month before the release date. We mark the annual subscription on our shop page to show which issue it begins with.

Will my subscription roll over once it has finished?

No. You will need to make a new order. An annual subscription consists of four copies and this is a one-off payment, not direct debit.

Can I buy a subscription as a gift?

Yes. Just enter the details of the recipient of the magazine at checkout. If there are any special instructions these can be added as a note to the order.

Returns and Refunds

Can I return my order if it is damaged or I am not happy with the quality?

If a customer is not happy with the quality of the magazine, we accept returns and will issue a refund. We do not pay for the postage on returns. For orders containing 1-2 copies, we prefer that you pass on the magazine/s to someone you think might like it more! If your order contains 3+ magazines, we ask that you return the magazines, and once we have received your return you will be issued with a refund, plus a refund on any postage cost you paid in your original order.

If your order arrives damaged, please contact us at info@ayearandaday.co.uk. We are happy to apply refunds (full or partial) on damaged goods.
